Leveraging the Neighborhood


Problem: The client saw a market opportunity when another bank closed several branches in the Bronx.

EC Communications produced a series of postcard mailings using local Bronx icons (the Bronx Zoo, the NY Botanical Gardens, etc.) to reinforce the bank's message of commitment to the community.

A series of three targeted mailings to non-customers invited them to come into the closest branch and get free tickets to the attraction (and a sales message on the benefits of opening an account).

Result: Response was so high that not all requests could be fulfilled. Ultimate conversion of non-customers far exceeded projections.
